Wow what another great day we had at Summerfest 2019. Didn't the Haddeham Beer Festivals Trust do a great job with organisation and once again surpassed themselves, well done guys.

The beer was great, did anyone try the Red Kite ale?

Thanks to everyone who spoke with our roving reporters Steve and Annie and those who called in to see us at our gazebo. The sun did make a very brief appearance but on the whole it was a pleasant day to say the least weather wise. The bands were great too and well deserved round of applause must go to the sound technicians too.

Looking forward to Winterfest already? then keep listening to Red Kite Radio for news and updates.

It's been an interesting, amazing, sad and joyous two years but we're still here. It's happy second birthday to us today. Our first offiicial broadcast was on Sunday 18th June 2017. It took a lot of hard work, long hours of planning and preparation, lots of form filling, meetings and fund raising, but we made it.

We'd like to take this opportunity to thank all our Sponsors and Advertisers past and present, our supporters and of course our volunteers who work tirelessly to give their time and expertise to keep Red Kite Radio on the air, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Thank you one and all, happy birthday and here's to the next year.

WOW! What a day we had at Haddenham Fete. The rain held off thank goodness but we were nearly blown away by the winds. The one thing I didn't cater for, so we struggled to pin down the Gazebo, thankfully, rope was on hand and a few metal spikes allowed us to anchor it. As you can see in the picture below.

The team were there in force, Steve, Annie, James, Peter, Chas and Chris. We had a great day, meeting lots of Haddenham residents and visitors, capturing a few soundbites and running a small competition. The question was: "What is the name HADDENHAM commonly thought to mean?" and the answer is "Hadda's Homestead". The winner was Danny Prendergast who wins a Red Kite Radio, Radio.

“You’d help me out if I need a favour wouldn’t you Steve?”
“Of course, Annie”
“You’d chase a spider out of the bath for me?”
“You’d fight off big dogs?”
“Walk over a bed of hot coals?”
“Fine, here’s your sponsorship form, we go Friday at 7pm”
And that’s how I got conned into walking across burning coals by our new presenter Annie.
So, on the Friday night we arrived at Aylesbury Rugby Club and presented ourselves to the organisers.
Perhaps the most worrying thing of the night was signing the disclaimer saying that you knew that fire-walking was dangerous and if you got injured – well it was tough luck.
We had excellent preparation and training from UKFirewalk and then we went out to face the heat.
Having completed the walk we interviewed many of the people who took part and got some great clips for our breakfast show and a bigger version which you can access below.
Thanks so much to the Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity, UKFirewalk and all of the walkers who helped make it such an enjoyable night.
Annie and I would also like to thank all our sponsors who allowed us to raise over £450 for this extraordinary charity.
My only worry is what Annie will think up next,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
